Nice one SWB, Choicest of choice in fact. You have a talent there.

I have admired your out of the box thinking in the past, and your willingness to put it out there.

Best regards Pikey Paul

I had a bit of a chat with my boy today about said topic. we were walking down the woods and he decided a stick was order of the day. I looked for a bit of beech for him (you know - like father like son!) I tried to pass on the legacy to the next generation.

He is a bit more of a free thinking , non conformist than me and went for the old favourite. I didn't have a camera on me but here is a pic of another trip down the woods. stick in tow.

Can you name the type..? The prize is a champion specimen chosen by the boy himself, Haakon.

sycamore too! nah changed me mind after some scrutiny! OAK

my first thought was oak tony, but the leaves are quite large, then i looked at the time of year, summer time, so why is this small branch dead, i then see the grass has been cut by a ride on machine, maybe even a tractor, maybe the wing mirror caught a low branch in the field, and all i see are sycamores, so i will have courage in my conviction and stick with sycamore:biggrin:
