Windblown tree in neighbours

Question

So during the Winter Storms we had I had a couple of Trees fall into the neighbours garden, a couple of fairly large Spruce

When we bought the Property the neighbours shafted us out of 150sq/m of land, they actually extended the cottage onto what was the plot of land I was buying some years previously and when it came time for me to buy they held us to ransom by demanding this land be handed over to them to allow the boundaries to be properly defined and allow my purchase to go through

As the Property is empty the Solicitor acting in behalf of the beneficiaries employed a local Tree Surgeon to remove tip of one of the Trees as it was sitting on the Roof (no damage caused) He then cut the Tree at the Boundary and I dealt with what was on our property

So with that in mind what are my legal obligations to remove what is remaining in the neighbours property? We live in Scotland if that makes any difference

Cheers
