I've never had it on a Vermeer, but had it with Kubota engines on Jensens and Timberwolfs.

The fins on the radiator can get blocked with sawdust/chipdust caused by the fan blowing/sucking air through the rad.

Try getting the blower in through the side of the engine bay, and blowing any muck back out through the rad.

Had this happen on our bc 150s check the rad is unblocked also check exhaust is not blowing as the hot air just gets trapped in the confined area, we tended to run it with the hood up for a bit with someone blowing with a leaf blower. We usually sent them back to the mechanics but not sure how they resolved the problem to be honest although i remember that on the opposite side of the dials where there was sometimes a handle this was removed possibly to allow warm air to be released? hope this helps

Kubota engines are extremely robust and reliable, it's only lack of service that lets them down.

On a chipper, 90% of the time it is the radiator matrix that needs blowing out, do this carefully with an airline but with the side covers removed and the engine running.

Best way of checking it to put a light inside the engine bay and see iff you can see through the radiator matrix, the worst area for blocking is the lower half

My first post:001_smile: so here it is..

I also have a BC150 that developed the same problem. Thought it was a fuel problem so cleaned & cleared whole fuel system. It was finally diagnosed as a leaky radiator cap.

If the ratiator doesn't preasurise it overheats at a lower temperature. So perhaps replace the cap? and check the pipes. Also keep the rad clean.

The guys at Vermeer Uk are very helpfull if you havent already tried them.

Great machine though!
