Thank you ! Yes I must admit it’s a great job it’s under going a major refurbishment at the moment! The owners are restoring it back to its original “ splendour “ the house is being down by a contractor but the grounds are being done by myself and a young lad. Just installing the driveway at the moment

Seems like you nailed it bud, after talking to a couple of old boys in the pub, that area was always known as the rabbit warren back in the day.

Unsure what the mystery is about the use of a well / natural spring?

 

Mystery is in the stone steps design?

 

 

 

Step wells are common in india.

 

Guessing maybe some  local rich bloke who had travelled there got the idea to tart it up at one time with the fancy steps?

 

 

Or maybe a sheep dip but design looks wrong?
