Rigging forces and angles

Not the best pics but it gives you an idea of the forces involved in the rigging process. I'm not sujesting a calculator in a tree but it might help after reading this:scared:

Dont dump wood on ropes. Try to let the wood weight the rope gradually. If in doubt, use a stronger rope or a smaller bit of wood.

 

now i just need an accurate and easy means of determining the weight of bits of tree.

I scanned this chart of green wood weight from a excellent book called The art & science of practical rigging. Well worth purchase in my IMO, has got great info on rigging set ups & angles. some of the timber mentioned is found mainly in the USA but you will still get the jist from it:D

Just got the dvd which goes with that book last week. Also well worth every penny. 4.5 hrs or so of quality viewing.
