and for the less intelligent amongst us, ie me, maybe you could explain what the hell it means?:wave:

 

Dont dump wood on ropes. Try to let the wood weight the rope gradually. If in doubt, use a stronger rope or a smaller bit of wood.

 

now i just need an accurate and easy means of determining the weight of bits of tree.

I scanned this chart of green wood weight from a excellent book called The art & science of practical rigging. Well worth purchase in my IMO, has got great info on rigging set ups & angles. some of the timber mentioned is found mainly in the USA but you will still get the jist from it:D
