Yeah left Trust for that reason- locked compound they said. Complete bollocks. I go with Cornish Mutual now. They may not be the cheapest but someone actually came out to the yard- looked over all the plant took serial numbers etc before giving me a quote- just instills more confidence in the event of a claim.

Cornish mutual also not covering tree works

JCB through cover sure are offering a good price, the sales man has promise the world though and I'm wary.

Basically has told me its insured for anything anywhere, doesn't even need a fence around it.  Unable to show me the policy wording that backs this up however.

Can you not get it covered through you public liability insurance. Mine has a plant cover on it and hired in plant cover.

Is that while it's working or left on site.

Left on site.  I'm only really worried about theft and vandalism cover, I can't be carting round fence panels everywhere we go, JCB cover machines on private land without fencing but won't touch tree work, neither will anyone else it would seem.

Tempting to try and cover it for general ground works but when your called Grayshott Tree Services and its been stolen from a forest I don't think they will pay out!
