I have recently bought the

2000W Corded Chainsaw 40cm - CS2040 | BLACK+DECKER and think it's due for sharpening. I've spent ages searching for one that is compatible and I'm lost with all the choices, and different measurements? Can you advise on what would suit a 'girly' that is simple to use and does the job. Thanks 🤪😳

Couple of strokes on each tooth every few tanks of oil, much easier to keep it razor sharp than to let it get blunt and then try to put an edge back on. I'd get a kit like this:

Free delivery and returns on all eligible orders. Shop OREGON 4.5mm (11/64-Inch) Chainsaw Sharpening and Guide Bar Maintenance Kit for 3/8-Inch Narrow Kerf Saw Chains (558549).

Chain sharpening is a bit of an art not difficult to learn, you need a 4.5mm round file and some kind of file holder for that chain...

Alternatively buy a guide like the oregon and a 4.5mm file

Buy a spare chain as well, this firm lists your chainsaw...

If you can find someone local to show you how to sharpen, helps get started

Hi, I agree with all that's been said already, but you might be interested in looking at the sharpening advice from Rob D on here who has a business called chainsawbars .

He has a series of videos where he explains aspects of sharpening and the various methods including the use of the tools already recommended, if you visit his site you'll find a video of what you want to know... hope this helps..
