What Bar? Sugihara vs. Tsumura vs. Cannon vs. ?

Ive pinched the sprocket on my Husky bar and its not replaceable. Not the end of the world but Im thinking I may use it as an excuse to get a new bar. Any views on the lightweight bars? Stock is low so choice is a bit limited to get one tomorrow but I can get a (Husky rebadge) Tsumura lightweight for a good price. Otherwise wait on something else. The current sprocket sort of works as long as Im really nice to it so I don't need to change straight away.

 

Any thoughts from the collective? Would you wait for something or get the Husky/Tsumura? Using it for felling and cross cuts mainly.

I know the normal husky bars have been held to be made from chocolate so lots of people put different ones on, I just found the Husky were a really good price so stuck with them.

I have seen the Husky/Tsumura bars, to me this seems like their answer to the previous bad reputation so I would definitely give one a go especially as they are so much cheaper than Tsumura badged which are a premium product.

Would be interested how you get on as will need to replace the bar on my 372, it's not lasting well.

Id rather stick with the husky bars , a Sugi nose replacement is the same price as whole husky bar and I haven't found them to last any longer , I've even had sugi bars last less than two weeks before the nose sprockets have shat itself.
Sugi maybe good for Arb work where the saws don't get used as much but haven't found them to stand up to forestry work.

I've had 3 huskys and this is the first where I've had a problem with the bar so they've been fine but I'm not a heavy user. As it's on my big saw I figured saving a few g off the bar would help my feeble arms, so I'll probably get the huskymura bar I expect. Unless anyone has some really good reason not too!

 

Edit: thanks MattyF - if I said there's only a £30 price difference from husky X force laminated to the Tsumura would that change your opinion?

I'd rate cannon and GB bars if your not bothered by weight , I'm only running a 36" and 12" Sugi's as they haven't needed replacement but I've had to do two nose sprockets in both those bars ...but there was a point when All my mid range 50-60cc front line saws where running sugi and I was far from impressed in the investment .. I've no idea how far in performance they differ from tsumura bars but Sugi nose sprockets I've found to be to hard and brittle.. the bars them selves are not that light even the lite versions ! but are very rigid and strong... which can be a bonus if working in multiple windblow on a slope and inevitably you get a saw stuck and need a stick winching to get it back [emoji38]

I like the GB bars from Rob D there not as silly priced as the Jap stuff look good and are a quality bar.

I did look at the GB bars but they're stihl orange.... Not sure the colour OCD could cope! I guess it will all rub off anyway mind. The Huskymura is only £7 more than the GB so the saving isn't massive. I will take a second look though. Thanks.

I'm leaning towards the Oregon, less hard and tougher than the Japanese bars.

I'm running Sugi, Tsumura and GB bars, in a variety of bar lengths. I'm a bit like Matty in my Sugi opinion. I'm using a 15 on my 550 currently though and it's holding up well. The Tsumura lost all its colouring very fast, and I managed to take a chunk out the bar quite easily which was disappointing. It's languishing in the back of the truck. I have a 28 inch GB on my 390, and it's a thing of beauty 😍 

 

All I can conclusively say, is I always ditch my standard Husqvarna bars for some aftermarket one. Maybe I'm being hasty?!
