Does anyone have any idea if there is a going rate for beech sawlogs? In West Sussex.

Thanks

Does depend on the quality of course, but fairly low value for Beech - if they are good quality forest grown milling logs then around £70 per ton delivered to sawmills.

I think the price on beech saw logs may vary a little from different regions but i think £70 a tonne delivered in is very cheap, we was getting £90 a tonne roadside 2 years ago for winter felled  good clean forest grown 400mm MTD in 2.5 mtr lenghs, i dont think there would be that much call for it at this time of year tho, I think a few phone calls would be well worth the effort on this subject, or if you just talking the odd log here and there out of some ones garden then £70 a tonne for it to go as a saw log is dear as 99 logs out of a 100 will contain metal of some sort and there for i would think £40-£50 tonne max,,,
