562xp clutch drum

Just a question, based on what you can see from the two attached images of the 562 clutch drum - does it look to you like the pitting and marks on it would be consistent with a unit that was new, off the shelf - and had been used for less than two hours? I know sometimes new old stock can look less than perfect

Yes I would agree poorly stored ( should be in a box wrapped in oily paper ) but I would not have thought that would be the cause of the sprocket carrier separating from the drum .  Faulty weld / crimp/spin ( however they are joined ) perhaps ? They are about £ 40 odd notes . Take the fecker back .
