Certainly faster and lighter and less vibes . If you are cutting full time in the woods you just buy another in 12 months or so . So yes maybe don't last as long but I would sooner use a modern saw for a year than use an older one for 2 years . just me ...

You'd basically rather own a Ferrari for 5 years than a Mondeo for 10?

Makes sense.

It could be that. Or perhaps in their competition to get the most power out of their saws, they lose reliability in the process..?

Another guy I met with a shop in Gwynedd started stocking Echo and reported to me that they virtually never come back for repair. If you look at their performance stats, relatively speaking them seem undertuned (the 501sx for example has only 3.5hp compared to Stihl/Husqy 50cc saws at 4hp). Perhaps this explains their reported reliability...

I don’t think you can knock the echo saws I think there giving stihl and husqvarna a run for there 💰 👍

Go on and get Echos, fill your truck with them, tell us till the cows come home about how they’re giving the big 2 a run for their money.

I have the little 2511 which is great, if a little unreliable.

I don’t care about an extra couple of hundred quid for a stihl/husky. They’re top banana, and getting better, lighter, and more powerful year after year.

Yea but I thought it was you that got my point 😁

Of course.....I think..! Just wondering what sort of truck you have now? 😀

Think American movie advertisement voice.....

"The man.....that values performance above all else"

"Screw reliability......he gets another when he sets his truck on fire!"
