Fencing Around TPO Tree

Something a bit different!

 

I've been to a clients this morning to look at a Lime tree that lies on the border of the property.  The client wants to fence around the tree but the post will be directly in the roots of the tree within centimetres of the stem.  Has anyone come across a fencing system that will allow the fence to go around the tree without digging posts in?

What type of fence have got to put up.

Metposts are better than digging but it's best to probe for suitable post positions first and use a fencing spec that allows post positions to be varied.

It's concrete post and panel but with no posts close to the tree.  The panels basically flap about.

Yeah, that might not be a bad idea.

We have completed a number of jobs like this where we airpade the post holes to find clear space for the post to be concreted in. Obviouly it works much better with closeboard fencing as you have some adjustment either side to find a clear path

This is interesting. Does it take a long time to airspade the holes? What depth can you get down to? Or do you just do the surface layers where roots are most likely to occur?

Depth of the post then you avoid the gas mains n fibre cables 😉 K
