Who's still burning?

The fire is now on. Never thought I'd be doing that in Devon in July, but hey ho. Better that than uncomfortably cold.

Lit mine yesterday just to cheer things up a bit. Crazy weather.

It's warm enough down south, so although the stoves were used much more consistently and 7-10 days longer then usual I've not had them lit since mid may.  It's damp here though, hope we get a decent spell of dry weather once the schools finish, really feels like the country needs all the sun and fun it can muster after the winter we had!

Lit my yard stove today to dry things out a little.

Just going to say that, we often put the fire on for a couple of hours mid-summer just to draw out the damper house air and let the dryer outside air in

Not cold enough here in West Sussex . Got to be 9 degrees or less for me to light it .

Beautiful daytime weather, but a bit nippy in the evenings. Fire is now on 😁

Not before October here and cannot light it as I've just cleaned it out, swept the chimney and put the stove on its back to free up the air control leers which jam up with ash over time.

 

Also spent half a day fabrication the first of two hot air manifolds to direct some heat into the adjacent room after passing through a duct under the stairs and a 150W ventilation fan.

 

I tried it last year and it worked well, albeit the fan is a bit intrusive, so I decide to engineer it a bit better.
