Anyone for an electric Land Cruiser?

So strange that you have to do a course. You would think with all the modern technology, tyre tech, brake technology etc it wouldn't make much of a difference between 3.5 and 4.2

So what number do you chose?

4.3 4.4 5.0?

Got to be a cut off at some point.

They did not have to give any extension at all.

 

Personally I think you might as well do the C1 & get lots more capacity as the approved courses are only available from a few place so will be a premium price.

Anyway, IF one has to do a course to run an electric truck at 4250kg.

Why does it have to be electric?

Because the powers that be have actually used a bit of common sense and the realized that an electric commercial vehicle with a gvw of 3500kg loaded with batteries will leave sweet FA load capacity rendering the (eco green save the planet make Greta wet) vehicle useless, no one would buy them.


Give them the same load capacity as their diesel/petrol variants and it makes them more viable 

 

do a relatively simple extra test and bobs yer uncle 

 

bit like here (Sweden, not sure about UK) there’s an extended B license test (b96).

a quick theory test lifts the combined limit of 3500kg (for a heavier than 750kg trailer) to 4250 Combined

There’ll be no common sense involved, only the reasoning that they’ll make loads on the VAT on new vehicles so it’s worth (for them) stimulating.

Actually any alternative fuel would also be the same.

We never took up the B96 but do accept it from other countries.
