House builders and nesting birds

What's the story with the big building companies?, in the next village over one of the national house builders are building a new estate. Skylarks got in there before the builders, does that stop the job?

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that there are exemptions for construction sites, can't find it now though.

If you / someone you know are/is  ‘seriously outraged,’ an appropriate coa would be to review the application supporting docs (eco report etc) and DN (for any existing stated conditions), gather any available ‘evidence’ of contravention of conditions or unlawful activity then present finding to LA planning enforcement and/or local constabulary wildlife officer.

Afternoon Mr Johnson, it's nowt to do with me and I don't give a flying if they build there or not. It came up in conversation yesterday (see what happens when pubs open).

 

I had the same thinking as you... nothing will stop the development, I just thought I'd read somewhere that there were certain exemptions for construction sites but the only place I could find it applies is in Scotland.

Yep that’s certainly my experience, especially since moving to Cornwallandia! Cornwall Council planning and enforcement are utterly dis functional. But its allegedly not their fault....it’s due to Covid[emoji106][emoji849]
Sadly all the scrotes and rule breakers know it too!

COVID is “this” years excuse! Prior to that it was “austerity”, prior to that something else and next year we’ll prob have the new excuse. 
 

Only thing missing is accountability!

Its definitely worth reporting, and if you can get photo evidence to support it even better, you could also report to RSPB 

 

I never used to report stuff like this but in recent years I do, as I work on the theory that we have to comply with law, so should they
