They are a budget chain and cannot expect perfection.They are fine for certain jobs

I don't expect anything , as I said never used them . It was just an observation .

Expectation in general to all worldwide (GLOBALLY) who use rotatech chains if that clears up any confusion.

But given that I order randomly whenever I run low of a certain size, you'd think I'd have got a duff one by now?

People expecting a rolls rocye performance out of a skoda. Aint gonna happen but both will get you from A-B

I have used them on a chainsaw & two processors.

 

They do seem to be slightly more stretchy on the first use. After that dont really notice it.

 

They cut fine out of the packet. I sharpen with a grinder so dont know re how hard some teeth are.

 

Put one on my latest processor to do a job & then left it on to do the next. Only adjusted tension once. Not sharpened it at all & it has done about 30 tonnes of hardwood. I have another job with it this week doing softwood & I wont be changing the chain unless it shows signs of loosing its edge. I am expecting it to do 15-20 tonnes. After that I will sharpen it regardless.

On my smaller processor I tended to change the chain every job (even big brands). Partly I think due to it using hydraulic fluid to lube the bar creating more wear / heat.

I think I must have used about 100 rotatech chains now (just bought another 40 for this year last week) and I don't remember having any major issues.

 

I get the odd hard tooth but I got that with Oregon before. People have their favourites but if I handed someone a saw I doubt most would know which chain it was running.

3 of us confirm the same so nothing wrong with chains. I use a grinder so maybe those who have problems hand file but myself like a hard steel toothed chain

Thats an absolutely shit design isn’t it? How much would a dedicated reservoir have added to the cost? Bugger all, not to mention the chance for cavitation if a careless op lets the level drop too low.
