Advanceable tie in point

Recommended Posts

Would you climb on that ? Is it an acceptable anchor ? That's a 34mm ring and a 9mm maillon on 10mm Sirius. I saw 'the climbing arborist' doing it with a sewn multisling and a carabiner.

The problem here for me, aside from only 10mm Sirius holding this much awesome... Is the knots. Knotting reduces rope strength.

I've not cut this hitch cord yet, I'm not sure that I will. I've ordered a 30kn lyon anchor sling, to which I'll put two delta links. That is what I will be using.

I'm just curious about people's views on this. What do you use ?

Why so old school?

You at least need to get a pulley in there.

I'm new to srt, is the pulley to assist removal ? I was under the impression that with the line running through hardware and not over a limb, it would be okay. I could chuck a pinto on the maillon, I also like the look of the Texas tug that I've seen online.

I'm on a rope guide, can't fault it.

HOLY MOLY ! I just had a look, that's an expensive anchor ! It looks to be aimed at drt ? I've got the pulleySAVER for my drt set up, maybe I could use that. But I'd prefer to keep seperate systems. This thread is just for a canopy tie that can be moved up without pulling all that line up. Is that rope guide really necessary, what's the advantage ?

this is for srt, the rope isnt running through it like a cambium saver in drt,  i think i saw the vid the op is talking about, it did look good, but i have never used it, my srt set up is pretty simple.
