as some of you know ive been coppicing some ash for logwood sales.

i have a fella who regularly walks his dog down my track and has offered to do some burning and general dogs body work down there for me,his payment is that he said he's happy to take a small trailors worth of logs home every nite.

my question is should i have a non experineced person down there or should i just tel him to move well out of the way everytime i fell a tree?

he used to work as a manager for kent county council as a pen pusher, so should i reap the benefits of cheap labour and make him sweat or not?

payment in kind = employee = insurance

I was just thinking that.

What if he was to do bits of woodland management, in your wood, as his "hobby" and clear small amounts of timber to keep the woodland "tidy"?
