I had bogging issues when mine was relatively new. Sent it back under warranty and it wasn’t anything to do with the carb.
The spark arrestor was clogged and not allowing a full exhaust. Guy removed it and ran good.
May or may not be an issue for you too....he said wasn’t uncommon

Here is a video showing the same, the video makes it clear what setting the

saw to its fastest idle position is, this is done after you set the initial h and l settings.

here is also a link in the event the video doesn't play,

Valid only for old 2511 without active idle correction. Otherwise most guys are “tuning by ear” and can’t understand why the saw is not reacting to L, or idles nice but does not accelerate properly...

Hi

Had my little echo for a while, and it has started to play up.

It was initially stalling, so I adjusted the carb, and couldn't seem to get it right. Echo tells you to tune by finding the leanest point using the L screw, and then to tune to 4k rpm using the idle screw and then bring the revs down to 3200 by unscrewing the L screw.

While doing this using a tachometer, after finding the leanest point, I was unable to get the revs to 4k with the idle screw, it would go down to about 4200, and then drop down to about 3300 a fraction of a turn later. So in then just tuned down to 3200 using the L screw when the revs were at 4200.

After this, the engine would continue to rev high for a few seconds after the throttle was released, which lead me to believe I had an air leak, so I dismantled it, and done a pressure test and it held pressure just fine, and I poured soapy water on all the seals and had no bubbles.

Now I'm at a loss and need advice while I still have the saw apart

Thanks

These saws can suffer from carb issues so if you really are struggling:

1) Did you register the saw with Echo when you bought it? You will need to have done this... [unless from us as we do it for the customer]

2) Call Ashley from Weston Garden Machinery 01934 626093

3) Or talk to whoever answers the phone and say 'please can I send my saw to you for Ashley to look at, cause I heard he is good on these'

4) Drain the saw of fuel and oil - add a note in to give DETAILS on what has happened ie. I bought the saw x, I have run on y fuel with z 2 stroke oil for the first 4 months it ran xxxxx but then it did this xxxxx. It is hair pulling when folk say 'my saw is not working that well can you help?'...

5) See point 4 and make sure you have added your name/address/phone number

He will either fix it under warranty or call you to tell you what the issue is but either way it's where we send saws that are not running right and he always seems to put it right.

Some handy advice re carb settings on here.
2511 ( spud exhaust mod ) is a wonderful tool.
The carb is a fickle thing and requires regular tweaks.
Mine is running flat atm so need to take a look again.
When they are really zipping it’s surprising how much the full size top handles sit in the van all day
