I have the granberg one from Rob D a bit fiddly but good bit of kit my mate gave me a disk sharpener that came from Lidl and on chains that have hit the concreate yard or some such it is surprisingly good

The dremel is great with a diamond stone - I don't use the chain sharpening head but do it freehand - super fast but not accurate. Certainly the best I have found for speed while out in the woods.

Diamond stones are here

I know this is not the Dremel but since then I upgraded to the Dremel!

The Granberg Precision grinder is the best on the bar sharpening tool I've found - but it is not a perfect tool - I use it all the time to get the teeth right - but I'd love to make a similar sharpening tool that allows you to set the angles and height but you clip your battery dremel sharpener into it...

But at the moment the Granberg grinder is the only powered grinder that allows you to sharpen on the bar and get it right.

I really like the Granberg, super simple to use if you have an ounce of mechanical knowledge. You just need to read and follow the instructions. Not easy for all it seems. :D  With the diamond grinders its perfect.

But I can fully see the advantage of not having to lug a 12v source around with you all the time.

Yep, I've often thought the same, I think the standard Dremel would be a bit too big and cumbersome for the Granberg jig but the Dremel lite 7760 looks like it would be about the right size.

I'd imagine that it would be possible to mount the plastic bit of this attachment to the jig one way or another so the Dremel just screws in...Maybe I'll give it a go if my Granberg gives up.

Yes correct and it's a lovely light tool and charges with a USB so easy to use in the field [as the battery doesn't last too long prob enough to do a long chain twice]
