Very nice photo! Took my new groundy out on first lowering today... slow but quick to grasp the idea. Will be very good groundy when she's properly trained:sneaky2:

Only a small tree today but will have to take down elmtrees this size in the near future...

Great video! Will use it to show her how a big takedown is performed...it's hard to describe in words.

Thanks Rupe:001_smile:

More to come yet. My groundie is the best (good climber too), this video shows his skills at my attempts to overcomplicate everything!

Tip top as always Rupe :thumbup1:

You do like your Beech take downs dont you mate!! Very useful videos those :001_smile:

Cheers, and yes I do like Beech, its by far my favorite tree to climb. I've not put my spikes on yet, but they are on in the next clip cos it got wet. Generally I'd leave them off as long as possible.

The only big trees we have here are Beech and Poplar, with the odd lime and oak. So I do way more poplars than Beech but don't like them enough to bother posting!

Check out the tree behind the one we are felling. Its a monster! Beyond it WAS the one we felled a couple of years ago, and they are near identical "clones" from the same seed tree I guess.
