Evening All,

Been reading this thread with interest.

Do you think a small chipper like the JB300 etc, a pick up and trailer (ideally tipping) is a good set up to start with, then add to your arsenal when cash and increase in work allows? (Private work at weekends :001_tongue:)

Saying this as have access to the truck and trailer, and thinking of investing in a little bad boy, as stacking and mincing is getting to be a pain in the bum tbh!

Surprised what can be diced up onto a trailer, but can these wee chippers really deal with a big takedown, obviously 3"+ timber going for logs??

Cheers

Beezy

exactly what i did,,, but a greenmech,, and more so i could keep my D3

Woohoo another converter!

Is that the 14 or 18?

I'm jealous of the trailer. Wouldn't mind one of them myself now! Looking at pedestrian roller trailers but can't seem to see any for good money!

Just remember to keep that chute clear. Takes nothing to stop it starting up! And it's a right pain when that happens too!

Its the 18.:thumbup1:

Really good trailer, bit slow on lowering, one would have thought since it beeing balansed it could wind down a bit faster... to many pins to lock it to the trailer. If I keep it i would rebuild the trailer and swap the hitch for a proper trailerone and attach a towingball to the trailer that the chipper attatches to, the ball could then be adjustable in height and control throwing and chute height... It could then be towed with the ATV!

Easy enough to load and unload, would definatly get the trailer with the chipper.

Tried it in one of our parks "The waterpark" where the only access is narrow bridges, dit a patch of 2-3" birdcherries with silky and chipper in 30 min!!!!

It would have been a real PITA to drag and saved me atleast 1 hour!

This job alone would make it worthwhile to buy!

Giving the boss the grand show today, hope she´ll open up the wallet!

Would save the department some serious money!

Loppers, silky, shorts, flip-flops and a WeeChipper what a great summercombo!!!

The electric start is a godsend on these little chippers!

You don't realise how big a piece you can put in. Keep the belts tight and blades sharp and it's brilliant, feeding gets a little awkward with bigger stuff if there's lots of branches but it does manage. You get used to knowing what will and won't go in easily.

Get a big wheelbarrow that's a similar width of the chipper, a wheelbarrow full of chip isn't very heavy and you can chip into it in back gardens then. A ramp into the van or even lift it in if you can, two people would manage, then just tip it in.

Fingers crossed for a new toy!
