or they are making them from butter as saten says...!

Some truth in that.

As the username suggests, I used to sell and repair power tools, generators etc.

When B&Q brought out their range of cheap shite power tools, performance power I think it was. It killed the power tool market. Builders etc were buying these things and throwing them away at the end of the job.

Bosch etc had to respond by lowering their prices. They couldn't do this without consequence.

Basic rule of thumb is you get what you pay for.

In their 9" angle grinders, the top armature bearing used to be made of alloy, which diserpated heat from the bearing. We noticed in the cheapened versions that they had started making them out of plastic. The only reason we noticed is that we ended up getting a lot more in for repair because the bearings were over heating and spinning in the plastic housing melting it.

The consumer demand for cheap tackle is the driving force.

Not quite everything, but Has anyone noticed that Husky combi cans are wearing out on the base? Pissing out usually oil but sometimes fuel too. Is this because they're manufactured where QC doesn't exist?

I find the Oregon Combi cans are much better.
