TW160 price

Hello,

 I'm currently helping a friend here in France is set up a business.

He is rather taken by the TW160.

Anyone know what the current U.K dealer price is?

Check your original sentence Stu, it sounds like a call centre sales person.

 

Mine was about £13k, but that was 18 months ago, and pre-lurgy.

 

It’s a very capable machine, and I still love it, but my mate who I split work with went for the 230 and it’s a different beast for not a massive weight increase.

I think he paid about £17.5k.

 

If he doesn’t need to push it around off the hitch like we do with the 160, then spend the extra and go 230.

 

Rosemary Brennan at Greenplant is the person to ask.

Her brother Danny works there as well, a top bloke who has worked with chippers, not some suit or agri-fitter who doesn’t know the specific machines. They’ve gone above and beyond for me in the past.

I had a 160 and paid 13.5k almost 4yrs ago. I was very happy with it.

Changed it for a 230 this year (was about 19k inc vat), it is a different league, chomps through stuff faster and breaks wide forks easy. You spend a lot more time chainsawing stuff with a 160. 230 is heavier but I now run a team of 4 so the extra bodies mean we can push it around easy enough.

BTW I am talking about a 35hp pre-dpf 230, not sure what the new ones are like in comparison.

Personally I would punt for a 230.

 

Not that the 160 isn’t a good machine but up there in my list of pet hates, is shedding branches and standing behind a slow machine.

 

Bigger the better IMO.  Obviously bigger costs so a happy medium has to be struck.  By the biggest the budget will allow.

Have you ever thought of upgrading to the TW280 and I know its £30k new.

I've only had my 230 a few months, no plans to go bigger.
