Yew (wood/ tree cost)

I've been offered a yew tree, no idea how to price it, forester say's he will cut out main stem and can deliver the larger branches, what would you give?

There is no real value to those branches - just offer to pay him what you think is fair for his time in bringing them to you.

I burn yew branches like that in site clearance often round here.

Who gets the stem? Thats gotta be worth £50-100. The branches Id expect dropped off for free.

Sounds OK, hopefully should give you some good characterful timber.  Yew is never clean and straight, but is usually very beautiful and characterful.
