Kawasaki KHS750B run / cutout issues

1st post so hope it's in the right place.

My Kawasaki used to run great however back in late spring it started faltering and stopped. It could be restarted but would only run for a minute at most.

Sent it off to the local repair shop. Picked it up a month on, same issue.

They replaced the carb, picked it up, tried it, same issue !!

Sent it back, got it back, got cash back. No run.

Looks like it never was the carb. Got clean fuel in it.

What to do?

I could be wrong, but isn't the red choke lever etc supposed to be on the top side? The old one was. No ID on this carb.

Did they check the coil ? Also could be a blocked fuel tank breather . next time it stops open the fuel cap and restart it . If it keeps running then the breather is blocked and pulling a vacuum .

They did so much then gave up.

Looking very much like the old carb wasn't the issue.

 

I'll check what else they did tomorrow.

The first time this happened it was running fine then faded away, farted and died. They've handed it back to me 2 or is it 3 times. Each time they started it fine. I took it home and within a minute or 2 it was dead. It died quicker if it was held vertically. At one time it was draining, but not refilling, the bulb but I think that got sorted (vac issues). 

Coil? Not sure that came up.

What's that little component in the wire to or from the on / off switch?

Check the tank breather I edited my post , you may have missed it ...

Regrettably back again now I've time to look at it again

There doesn't appear to be a spark so assuming a duff lead or the coil.

Looked everywhere for a proper  carb on the off chance but no go. All the Chinese ones out there have to be mounted upside down to line up the little hole next to the studs. Is that an airway to operate the diaphragm?

Maybe a recommendation for a spares supplier I can talk to might help.

Me too, bugger, Mach 3, all go, mostly vertical on a frame made of wet spaghetti!!

One of my firewood customers is well in to his Kwakers, he has a dinning room, a utility room and a garage full of them and i would say he has well over 20 of them at present and his aim is before he retires is to have one of every model from every year they where produced, not be a bad investment i suppose,,
