Im quite new to chainsaws, if it is a AV limiter, what purpose does it serve? Thanks

The two halves of the power head body  ( the tank unit and the engine unit ) are connected to each other with AV springs . These spring help reduce the vibration transmitted to you , the user . They do however need to be limited in their movement obviously and so , there are various pegs that centre in a ring ( be it on the plastic or the casting )  to limit the amount of movement . Not saying it is one of those but it could be .
