So not required to fell trees over 8" or operate a chainsaw from a rope and harness - just required to work at certain places.

f you worked with me you would need to be nptc qualified to do whatever tasks qualified for

then again i dont think there is much chance of that:bongsmi::bongsmi::bongsmi::bongsmi:

I, and all my staff, are NPTC qualified. Just saying that it is far from being a requirement if you wish to fell trees!

Even if you've only got CS30/31 you can still advertise as being NPTC qualified, you wouldn't be lying would you?

if your in the industry, it's not hard to guess. You tell me of a company that will not fell large tree because they don't have the ticket?

Dont know any.

I fell large trees with out large fell.

The problem is the goal posts are forever changing so how can we rely on the nptc since when they want more money the create new rules.

your not seeing the bigger picture. if you have an accident, god forbid, lets say you drop a log on a member of public or even one of your groudies. if its serious hse will get involved if you have'nt got the relevent paper work for the task your undertaking your basically in the s..t . you probable wont be covered by your insurance either. hse recognise nptc/lantra. I just like to cover my arse, no one wants an accident to happen they just do! what more can i say?
