As long as it’s not dangerous, it will be ok for me.

the clutch cover that came with the saw was orange. My dad replaced it with a silver one from lse.

last time I buy second hand could have got a brand new one for less after all the replacements!

oh well you learn your lesson the hard way.

it will be a hot saw as no other reason to take the serial off.

ask Dad what was wrong with the original orange clutch cover?  I wonder if it's actually a husky 350 as the 353 has a purge primer bulb fitted as standard.  There is anudder way to find out the serial number,  there is usually a white adhesive  sticker with the serial number stuck to either the fuel tank or the bottom of the crankcase  (basically it is somewhere between the fuel tank and the crankcase),  this i have discovered on a few 357xp's and 346xp's over the years although it may have come unstuck (bit like yerself....) and long since disappeared.

So quick update, I have reported the saw stolen to eBay and in the process of getting my money back.

Although I won’t get money back for the service and replacement parts, at least il get something back.

I will be putting the saw on sale, to recoup costs and will be buying a new 550xp mk2 as I should have done from day one.

I have also informed the police who said it can’t be traced so, they said just keep it same with eBay.
