Have been lifting logs with this sort of jack - but the ones I have had are poor quality... who makes the best version of this tool? Would rather pay x4 the price for x2 the quality..

That's one heck of a lot of wedge Rob when a decent one can be bought for £60 or so.  I get your point re spending on quality but all things in moderation and all that!

Mind you from a quick inspection(like the base with the notches for a suspended on a chain support=clever) the one at £420.00 has loads of well engineered features built in, but the price is ripping the arse out of it considering the power tools one can buy for the same money, with loads more engineering involved in their manufacture.

And******

What selection of "bits" are included in the asking price, like for instance the chain being used  in the illustration.

Yep but you gets what you pays for! So far I have only found 'so so' ones at around the £60 level. I'll buy one of these and post my findings.

That one you found seems to be a special Fire / Rescue one.

I think the brand HiLift is the inventor, these are the ones I looked at but never quite got round to buying

As above I'll get one in my hands and post on here whether it's worth the price difference. I have x4 already - but now I know I have a good use for it am happy to pay for the best.

Just bought one - had an option to checkout with Amazon which worked well... ie you stayed on their website but it pulled in details and card info from Amazon..
