I’m looking for Alder to make Swedish Nyckelharpa. Minimum  size cutting list is 80 x 100 x560. But preferably in larger section that I can process in my workshop. South Cumbria based.

Surely there is an Arbtalker who has some dried Alder for the original poster?  I know most of it gets chopped up for firewood but someone must have some dry slabs somewhere.....?

My brother makes guitars and swamp Alder (I asked him for the Latin and he just looked at me) is apparently good. He made a guitar from a piece of Deodar cedar and he made a lovely one. I'm sure he would be interested if someone has anything similar. I have asked him to log on and ask but he hasn't bothered yet as far as I know.

I've just heard back from my brother. He said he would be interested in any Alder slabs 510 x 360 x 44 if anyone knows of any once Luthier finds what he needs

Sorry to hijack your thread Luthier.
