Because Brian James are shit in my experience. But not £2k shitter, so he bought the right trailer!

@The dogwalker - are there any locally made equivalents or have the British cornered the market over there? An Ifor dealer over here reckons they sell a lot in Europe as they are cheap compared to what’s available on the continent.

Well, if one is looking for a robust tipper trailer with split side hatches I don’t think there are any local options.

But Sweden is a small market for that kind of trailers witch have some disadvantages, one is the number of dealers who have trailers above consumer grade in stock. At least if one does’nt live in the bigger citys.

Also the prices is affected by a small market and since a few years ago also a weak currency.

For example an Ifor TT3017, no options added has a price tag here saying 5082GBP VAT not included.

That is expensive, wowsers! In the UK it is pretty normal to get 10% off Ifor Williams list price when buying new.
The overall cost of ownership tends to be relatively low for Ifor Williams too - they sell for big money second hand for some reason.

500ml of a normal swedish lager is 1,19 pounds in store.
Pub price would likely be multiplied by four or five

You ever bought beer in Australia?
Me: hi I'd like an 8 pack of beer.
Oz: sure buddy 40 bucks.
(In 2012 that's was £26?)
Me: no, just 8 beers please.
Oz: er yeah 40 bucks.
Me: how much is one beer?
Oz: 8 bucks.
Me: I'll have one beer please.

I got an update from the Brian James dealer yesterday and was told that a new hydraulic engine/pump was shipped from England the same day so it should appear here within a few days.

This is fast enough in my book, after all Brian James England should have recieved the pictures the day before that.

I've had really good experiences with Brian James warranty. Had a ram fail on the last tipper (might have been two back) which was sorted the same day, I assume a manufacturing issue as the other one was fine. The trailer was over two years old. Had a serious amount of tips (many overloaded)

Bent and snapped various bits loading with machines, overloading and generally being a bit rough with the side panels. Always got the spares really quickly.

I loaded about 6 ton of soil on the tri axle tipper once and it wouldn't tip it but that's the only time. It towed fairly well though.

I'm very happy with mine, which is why i've had about 6, maybe more. Fortunately I make enough money working that I can afford to not worry about the depreciation when I swap them every couple of years, which means I get to run the trailers I want.
