if only!

Too right, had a BBQ in the field this afternoon, good time had by a few of us, I recon no one got within four yards of me, I'm sure Jeff who was doing the cooking could have infected me, I'll take me chance. Like I do when someone walks past me in the isle at the supermarket.

So, I was contracted by she who must be obeyed to make a desk for the spare room because she has to work from home. Starting tomorrow.
Found a bit of beech and attacked it with the belt sander.
I'm happy enough with the result, of course she told me exactly what height she wanted it, then changed her mind after I made it. At least she wants it lower now, not higher..
I might just nail a pair of 2x4s to her feet instead.20200405_121916.jpeg20200405_155513.jpeg20200405_165433.jpeg20200405_165428.jpeg20200405_200339.jpeg

Looks good. I’ve a load of spalted boards stacked up and was thinking of doing something similar for a gun cleaning/fettling bench, possibly with a fixed rest/support incorporated. If I get it done I’ll put a pic up and stand by for Les to get ripped into it.
Been in that situation with the mrs numerous time’s, bit like hanging pictures ie up a bit down a bit up a bit down a bit ?????

Don't know, can't get tested. I had some symptoms of the virus. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

I'll just add to this, just had a look, I can get tested, just short of £400 plus a trip down the smoke for a day. I think I'll give that a miss now I'm back on my feet, and out working.

Thanks. There was no skill involved, sadly. Its held together with screws! I enjoyed doing it, have loads of ideas for little projects. Would have liked to spend a little longer on it and peg and glue it, but it had to be ready for tomorrow morning!

I usually get a lot of household jobs done when she's away with work or travelling, that wont be the case for a while now though.

Anyway, I'm off to cut a pair of 2x4s. ?

Have fun making your gun cleaning bench. That will take a bit more than an afternoon!
