When you have tapped off your sap you need to make sure you fill the hole with a good tight plug or the tree will bleed to death:cry:

the tree we tapped was coming down anyway otherwise yes i woulda filled in the hole with a plug

Yes you use a wooden tap or a hollow piece of wood and drain into a bucket or bottle then whittle a plug out of wood and bang in firmly if a pine is near smear some resin around it first natures savalon:thumbup:
