Think the faux ebony was the holly in the title post previous to your lime .....

Hi ,staining holly what a waste the colours in holly are ace ,it does have its issues when drying, but I have been quite lucky and have made some lovely furniture out of it ,it’s one of my favourite timbers it’s a creamy/grey colour and it just doesn’t come along in sawl log size very often.
