Brush-cutter Replacement

Looking to replace my Husky 343r. Need something to primarily run a Oregon mulching blade. Anyone use the Makita 4 Stoke machine and wonder if it would have similar power?

I'd steer clear of the new huskies we've had no end of trouble with them and of the 8 machines I know of only 1 is still in good working order after 3 years of moderate use

 

The stihls we have seem better but one of them has yoyoed back to the dealer too

Any thoughts on the 4 stroke stuff, not Stihl 4 mix, tempted by the Makita but can’t find any serious reviews. Thx

You just can’t beat an fs460 for reliability in my experience. We thrash them and very few issues.

Have never tried the Makita 4t, but the 35cc Honda 4t has been great for me, using 2.7mm square line or various metal blades.

 

I would much rather use the Honda with a metal blade than a bigger 2 stroke.
