Does nobody sell sharp knives anymore??

They don't sell sharp knives cos in this namby pamby state they think we might cut ourselves.

 

I love sharp tools and for an everyday knife the Opinel takes some beating. Takes an edge to shave with. I'm just frightened of losing expensive knives.

Alright Liam , Opinel good cheap robust knife . This knife in the pic is from my first aid pouch which is usually on my harness . Its a lock knife and has a locking button to release it from the utility strap . I sharpen it with an old chainsaw file . Aluminium body steel blade 9 euros and its 5 year old .I love my axes and hatchets more :lol:

 

For camping with the lads I take my filleting knife .

I reckon opinel are tough to beat, but althoug its not what you asked, i feel the need to draw your attention to what i think could be the very best sharpening tools there are SWISS ISTOR SHARPENER

 

Cheers Tom, I do have a stone that i use and i can get a decent edge BUT i have been thinking of getting something and abit more modern, Just try it out really, think i might give one of those a bash :001_cool:

They are flippin awesome mate. I have one of those Stihl Billhook things and that tool keeps that as sharp as foook. You can hold it edge up and slice paper on it with minimum pressure after sharpening. I was introduced to them earlier this year and i am telling everyonme about them they're so good. I think they are only about £25 too.:thumbup1:
