Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but when I last did the sums for purchasing tree protection fencing for a development site, the cost per panel was ridiculous. 

 

Maybe I should be considering deer fencing specs instead of the BS5837 default spec.

Think  boars rooting is  suppose to be good for woodland biodiversity in controlled numbers?

 

 

 

We don't find we have to do rabbit control. We actually seem to have more Hares than Rabbits. Most of our browsing damage is caused by Deer.

 

We certainly don't have wild Boar, and I don't know anything about their contribution to biodiversity.

 

I've heard tell they are a kind of a pig to get rid of. ?

Lynx would be a slightly less controversial option. It is under serious consideration in a few specific locations but a long way off from becoming a reality.

I think that wolves need better PR. Introduce them as just a big dog (everybody dogs) and they'll be a lot less controversy. I tell ya!

I can recommend Kania traps for squirrelts. Fast and quick.

 

BTW if you have any greys, they reds are gone - the greys carry a pox that has no effect, it kills the reds.

I have strong feelings abt greys. Constant battle on my small birds / song birds feeder complex. Boar are good for soil manuring and seed deposition. Wolves tend to need huge roaming areas so not suitable fr UK highways network. K
