Roubo Bench Plans

Anyone ever attempted anything like this? Would be such an amazing challenge but I dont (yet) have the skills, facility or tools to do so.

Hi that’s a nice bench would like to have a go at making one , Andy you are welcome to come and make one in our workshop if you want no worries,probably quite far as I am in Dorset but the offer is there .

Well thank you very much Mark.  Maybe is too far, and I think Id just embarrass myself in a shop of pro's. Plus the 6 months shop time Id need.  

 

I guess Im really daydreaming. One day maybe?  

 

One of my mates is almost finished building a 3 bay garage plus a wee workshop. Oak framed. £70k all in. ?  Guess that will be on the back burner.

Hi on an auction site called bid spotter ,there is the contents that are left in 2 wood shops in a Manchester College not much any good apart from the very nice woodwork benches and metal cupboards all going really cheap maybe worth a look

the roubo is a bit over the top in my opinion but they are certainly well built by many a joiner.

 

mine would be a slightly different design but a very steady construction if i ever made my own.

Yes, my bench is of a similar style. Went for a Record for the main vice and a conventional tail vice with metal thread.

 

This ones not mine but pretty much the same and much smarter
