I have this with my tracked nifty lift. Occasional foaming in hydraulic tank. Really hard to work out as its is hugely intermittent - only happens when tracking (or legs up) but you can track 1000 metres and is it fine, then another time track 10 metres and it does it. Turn it off, give it 30 seconds and go about and its fine for hours.

Could the air be entering via the suction filter?

It is a bit primative looking and closed at each end by large circlips.

It is the only thing I have dismantled, to clean it.

Smear some grease around the filter and circlips and see if that cures it for a while

Hello,

Well I started the Solis this morning after giving the 2 jubilee clips a few more turns and the air seems to have vanished overnight from the pistons.

A slight jerky movement remained but disappeared quickly during use.

 Thank you for your advice.

The problem was a cause of great anxiety.

Last thing I need is a tractor issue when I'm battling a shonky chipper daily.

It's hard to tell from those photos but the vertical pipe looks on the skew, try taking it out and squaring it up, pour boiling water over the reducer to soften it so that you can get it right the way home. A couple of new jubilee clips wouldn't do any harm, they never seem to tighten properly when they are reused.
