Headstock for flail..which way round??

As above, just making up a headstock for the new flail. But which way round are they usually? Guessing as first pic but let me know what works best if you’re using one.

90 deg round from were it is.???

Gone for this way on, but it’s a right bugger to hitch up as the bracket isn’t parallel with digger and even with blade right down I can’t get the angle. Cut some chocks to sit it on I suppose.

Depth helps to grab a bit of extra reach, angle makes it easier to crowd the head vertical closer in.

I'm just fitting an Intermecato Tigergrip and rotator with a headstock (thanks for the reccomendation on the digger thread Eddie!) and I spent quite a lot of time playing around with templates to get the crowd angle where I wanted it (ie, so you can hold the grab out straight in front of you with ease)

 

I'd say you want something like the above for a flail. You'll never want to point it straight back at you, thats for sure, so might as well go the whole hog the other way.

 

 

The cutout in the main plate is to allow the front of the hitch clearance at such an angle- watch you for this.

Is that for your 27? Has it arrived? My 2 week delivery appears to have been a dealer fairytale!...

Yes, turned up on Friday. Can't be arsed to check emails to see actual delivery time, but they were blaming Whites for a late delivery and then problems with the hitch towards the end of it all. Must have been 8 weeks all told.

 

I'm just please they didn't send mine with twin aux to you, I'd have been livid ?

Ha ha!! Mine’s twin aux too and they claimed there was one in stock somewhere but now are coming up with all sorts of flannel as to where it is.

 

Are you pleased with it? Is it straight?!....
