560 chainbrake replacement

It is a shithouse - you need to do as Mark says (and there is a knack I’m afraid). Terrible design tbh. If you get a combi spanner and grind out the alternate flats you can make a tool for resetting that works though (this is something I’m sure I’ve seen/used but don’t own as I have ‘the knack’ - it may have been a dream though, and I’m talking rubbish again!!!!!

I used snipe nose pliers wedged in the pawl while my mate held the side cover and I turned it with a screwdriver through the pliers handle as a lever. He had somehow managed to remove the cover with the brake engaged, something he will not do again in a hurry. There are Youtubes on the subject, this one shows the modified scrench at about 2.50.

You are talking rubbish! Your method is for the 340, 345, 350, 346, 357 and more. The 560 has a different type of mechanism.
