Hi guys, I've been looking and looking but I can't find anything that I could lower a branch with that would self release once its on the ground if I'm working on my own. The best I've come up with is a slip knot but it would require one rope with two lines. Is there a device for such a thing?

Many thanks in advance for replies.

Shit drawing and obviously stupid rigging/lowering points etc but you get the idea.

Tim Bloomfield 'Luckeleven' invested in a crowdfunded piece of kit which allows just that.

Wee device opens out when tension released enabling recovery.

I'm sure he'll breeze by shortly and preach it's virtues.

Neat idea, but there are no targets, so why are you lowering, just drop it ?

Also, why is it being felled?

I'm working over a road, need to swing into farm field and need a quick release, I think I'm going to just twin rope it with a slip not.

Also consider cut and chuck. You can still sling the pieces to get a good swing and release on them. Short lengths of rope with knotted tails are easier to release than getting a loop tape sling stuck on your hand.
