Are those engine sizes cubic inches ? rather than cc ....Cubic centimeters

Are you going to climb with it? If so I would go 462, or 500i if you feel it's worth the extra money, on 25".

If you're on the ground doing lots of big stems, and/or want something you could mill with, then maybe 661 is right choice. Heavy though.

661 if you need grunt.

If your looking at price and only need around the 25" mark and wanted a Stihl, I'd get the 661 over the 500i. The 500i is the same price with a 25" bar as the 661 with a 28" so gives you that little bit extra

A few months ago I had to decide between 500i and 661, to replace my old 660. I opted for the 661 as this can run the 36 inch bar. I can still manage the 661 from the basket of my MEWP, and for a small number of cuts if I really have to when climbing (462 far preferable though). Not suggesting the 500i is not good for one moment though, but never actually used one.
