Hello,

Our old JD 1026r had a 25hp engine but only 13hp at the pto.

Do geared tractors have very much more power at the pto?

Figures seem difficult to come by despite lengthy Google sessions.

seems low hp on pto i would expect a 15-20% drop from engine to pto but not nearlly 50%, but if your tractor has done a bit it may be a bit tired and engine hp is down and that may explain the low pto hp,

Idiot, read kw instead of hp, DUH!

The online brochure has very small writing and I am almost at Specsavers age.

Which brings me back to the question, do geared tractors have more poke at the pto than hydrostatic?

   Regards

Still? Thought that would have sold long ago.
The fella I did one of my college placements with had a few of them, did a fair bit of pitch work and bigger landscaping jobs. They were great machines. We abused them daily, especially the one with the loader!

Apparently yes, as I understand it.

ps lovely kubota STV 36 still for sale with accessories...

I have seen your other post re this machine, it looks good value to me.

In general , plant, forestry machinery etc. appears to be more expensive like for like with UK. Do you know the reasons for this  ?

I can only suppose it’s higher taxation, higher costs for employment.

For instance you can very nearly get three new 550xp huskys in the UK  for the price of 2 here.

Thanks, I have a friend that has been looking at it with a view to exporting. Even on s/h 3-8t diggers there seems to be around 30%+difference.
