Anyone aware of this, a 2013 hilux that has been uprated to being able to tow 3.5ton and have a max train of 7ton, picture of plate inside door.

Could be interesting to see how dsva react to this should we get it and get pulled and questiond.

Opinions welcome. DSC_0136.jpeg

SV Tech are known for uprating vehicles.

Even Toyota (Here in Sweden) will update the towing rate of the older style hilux from 2800kg to 3500kg. paper exercise and uprated rear springs.

As an owner of said older type hilux I can confirm that they are well capable of a train weight of 7000kg, now what's all this stuff about uprating?!

But as I am not considering parting with it for some time yet, this is of interest to me. Thanks for posting it mr git!

Its perfectly fine. As said they are doing this stuf all the time.

Some are just paperwork & others need bits up rating.

It will also be on the V5c so its official.

Yeah. Obviously!

It's written on the plate in the picture. Clearly my humour is lost on you. No worries.

.. and before I get a lecture on weight limits and licences I'm in a different jurisdiction so you wont get any driving lessons out of me!

My reason for being present in this group is lost on you.

PS humour is normally more obvious if you add an emoji ;)

There has been a company upgrading them to 3.5 tons for quite some time. Apparently it has been Toyota GB who have not been willing to plate them at 3.5 ton
