how often do you change a sprocket

As per the recomendations in the users manual. :top:

 

correct but what are they

Husqvarna generally now say 1 chain to 1 sprocket

Stihl generally say 2 chains to 1 sprocket used simultaniosly to keep wear even

they both say up to 0.5mm wear as some have said a chain can last a long time especially on a climbing saw

As HIGH SCALE says stihl do a sprocket measuring guage which will be invaluable to you although easier to check on an inboard clutch

Part no 0000 883 4101 and only costs 98 pence

so go on boys and girls see the light and get one

Worn sprockets are a cause of vibration

The Husqvarna ratio seems a little excessive to me!

what is really supprising is how few people have not read the manual on saws we spend so much money on and are happy ish to spend £15ish on a chain but not a few quid on a sprocket
