Lanyard Help?

Hi Guys, sorry to ask Ive only been climbing for a few months and still trying to get my lanyard set up right!! a good friend of mine told me how to do it but think I might have done it slightly wrong so any one with a photo of how they do theirs would be great? Or tell me what I’ve done wrong with mine :( it seems a little tight but not sure why?

I think you've got a bit too much cord their for a distel hitch, that extra wrap is probably why it feels tight. 

 

Is the ring to aid in releasing the tension? shouldn't be needed with the pulley - thats the whole point of the pulley.

It keeps the 2 ropes from touching to prevent friction I’m amazed no one else has done this, a good friend of mine recommended it and it does help just wanting to Clarify the way the rope is set.

Ditch the ring.

Pointless

Try a couple of hitches.

Michoacan,knut etc

Distels lock up alot.

Look at youtube for hitches.

I'd second the ART positioner. It works great.

For what’s it worth I’d invest in the isc rope grab. Climbed with it for many years and never had any problems.
