B&Q do good stuff. The Spear & Jackson chainsaws are amazing as are the fuel cans and two stroke oil they do. The protective goggles are a snip at £9.99 aswell. Buy some strong footwear and a boilersuit as you might get dirty.

boots, trousers, hat,gloves,026, fuel can, felling lever, file kit and combi tool.

i reckon anywhere between £800 -£1000 depending on make.

if you are skint and 6 foot with size 10/11 feet i could help you out with second hand stuff it that helps. but tbh buy out the stihl catalogue from fr jones if you are from down south or clarkes if you are a choochter.

have a word with your instructors/lecturers as they will point you in the general direction. Try as many different harnesses as possible and saws etc until you find the ones that you feel right with. And all the best with your course:thumbup1: 026 and 260 are basically the same saw mate.

Thanks Penfold, it says in the Myerscough college prospectus that you must bring your own chainsaw, doesnt say anything about bringing my own harness though so i will hold out on the harness, thanks again Penfold

i am at myerscough college doing arb there, if you are doing short courses then they do require you use your own tools. But if you are a student you can use and abuse all theirs. Harness wise, for beginners you cant go wrong with a Petzl Navaho Boss, get it with the optional full chest harness aswell.

If you are climbing thereaswell, there are some good trees, use your own harness and their ropes!
